IOC GEDI awards open to nominations

GENEVA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) — The nominations of the Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Champions Awards are open, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Wednesday.
The IOC awards six GEDI winners every year to the representatives from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania, one for each, as well as a winner at the world level.
The awards recognize the contribution of participation, leadership, safe sport, portrayal and resource allocation of the nominates, and the deadline of the 2024 version is on November 30.
Following are the winners of 2023:
Africa: Irene Limika (Kenya)
Americas: Marialoreto Gonzalez Jaque (Chile)
Asia: Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala (Sri Lanka)
Europe: Aurelie Bresson (France)
Oceania: Patrick Johnson (Australia)
World: Katrina Adams (United States)
